Les Claypool and Robert Trujillo in “Precious Metals”

This is not a review. When the legendary bassists of Primus and Metallica team up very little else needs to be said.

But we’ll say it anyway. What starts off looking like a crazy Claypool lockdown film project does not take long to descend into a classic Wild West showdown. Even if the fantastic spaghetti Western soundtrack (penned by the Primus frontman himself) does not spark your interest, the moment both musicians drop their guns in lieu of their four strings is bound to get you grooving.

Over the last year we have been bringing the best new music to you through our reviews and our gigs, now that we cannot gig for a while we have a favour to ask. If you have enjoyed music you discovered through us, danced until your limbs were sore at one of our shows, or performed with us in the past, we would like to tell you about our new Paypal page.

Simply put, we have had no way of making income while unable to put on gigs and would like to keep By The Freaks ad free and available to everyone. If you would like to help us do this you can donate via our Paypal here.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. Rest assured once our website costs are met any extra money will go into By The Freaks, to make what we do better and more exciting than ever!
