Isn’t it typical; a claustrophobic room full of ill-advised decisions and one of them comes straight at you.
The second single from Sprints is bulging at the seams with head-rocking hooks, post-punk panache, and, most importantly, sarcasm. The Cheek has all the energy and life of an inner city club, with a reminder of just how irritating they can be.
It is a painfully common situation; a claustrophobic room full of ill-advised decisions and one of them comes straight at you in the form of clumsy pick-up, slurred over a sticky plastic cup. This is followed by a cry of “Are you even straight”, in response to your obvious disinterest. Sprints have two messages for this situation; one, who cares what that idiot thinks; two, don’t let that stop you giving them a good verbal kicking.
Until the clubs open and shows start happening again we might not get to use this new found motivation in practice, however, do not let that stop you playing The Cheek at full volume and bounding across your flat/street whilst naked/clothed and alone/with friends in all your glory.
