With their three track EP ‘Live From BBC Maida Vale‘ The Murder Capital presents us with two stunning renditions of favourites from their debut album, Green & Blue and Don’t Cling To Life, but the standout song from the Dublin band is their reimagining of Cellophane, originally by Grammy nominated FKA Twigs.
Like any good cover this would never have crossed anyone’s mind outside the band but now that the result is here we can’t believe it did not happen sooner.
The Murder Capital take the experimental piano ballad and transform it into an exploration of texture, no less emotive than the original; weaving together layer upon layer of instrument in such a way it is impossible to pick out individual sounds from the wave that washes over our ears, and equally impossible to believe this is all live.
